Update: Sadly the event was cancelled due to extreme weather conditions but Ren has kindly agreed to share her recipe here.
We are delighted to welcome food blogger and author Ren Behan to the Food Gatherer's Christmas Food Market as part of the upcoming Christmas at Forty Hall Farm wreath making event on the 10th December 2017, where she'll be hosting a festive round table workshop and book-signing.
Ren will talk us through her recipe for Polish Christmas Biscuits (above) and show us how to ice and decorate with aplomb - visitors can get involved and have a go too!
The recipe for the spiced biscuits, traditionally made with wild honey and rye flour are taken from her beautiful debut book .... Wild Honey and Rye (published by Pavilion Books) so these festive treats really are a true reflection of her Polish culinary heritage, which she shares beautifully in the book that explores and shares the rich traditions, but takes a modern, fresh approach to the Eastern European cuisine.
Ren's book can be purchased on the day and it would be a fabulous Christmas present for a good food lover, especially as it will be signed by the lady herself! We'll also have recipe cards for Ren's biscuits to take home.
We look forward to welcoming Ren to Forty Hall Farm on 10th December. Her workshop will begin from 2pm.
